Fishing Permits
McCormick Ranch Lakes

Welcome to the McCormick Ranch lakes and thank you for taking the time to learn about fishing permits.  Each permit must be renewed on an annual basis, dependent on when you secured your most recent permit.

Our three primary lakes, i.e., Margherite, Angelo and Nino, all hold adequate numbers of Largemouth Bass, Crappie and Catfish.  All have stocked in December of 2007.

Camelback Lake (Scottsdale Road and McCormick Parkway) and Lake Santa Fe (north of McCormick Parkway and west of Hayden Road) also hold good numbers of these same fish.

All lakes have an abundance of Tilapia, which are utilized to help maintain proper algae levels.  Although not noted as a game fish, Tilapia grows to a four-pound plus weight and is edible.

Although the majority of permit holders practice catch and release, you are entitled to keep the following numbers of fish on a daily basis:

Fish Limit
Largemouth Bass 2
Channel Catfish 2
Crappie 3
Tilapia no limit

As of January 1, 2005, Lake Angela became a "catch and release" only lake and only artificial lures are allowed.

Regarding enforcement – As the numbers of permit holders increase, our job of monitoring non-authorized fisherman becomes more time consuming and difficult.  Although we monitor the lakes on a seven-day basis, we are unable to keep unauthorized fisherman off the lakes on a 24-hour a day timeframe.  Our Lake Rangers carry a computerized list of authorized fisherman and each authorized fisherman is expected to have a current McCormick Ranch Property Owners’ Association fishing permit on their person.

If you suspect unauthorized fishing of any manner, feel free to call our 24-hour on-call service at 480.860.1122 X 24.

If you would like a fishing permit application mailed to you or sent via email, please use our contact page to request one.

Thanks again for your help and cooperation.

Good luck!
